Cian picked up potty training no problem he was probably day time trained within a week or two but night time was always an issue. And as Cian is getting older he's becoming more and more conscious of wearing a pull up and it being wet in the morning.

Week 1
So one week in on our trial and Cian's confidence is growing. But he's finding it tough not having anything to drink after 5. When we sat him down and explained about the trial and went through what we would do each week with the final result (hopefully) no pulls or any need for them, he was excited as it is something that leave's him upset and embarrassed every morning when his pull up is wet.
Night one: one ever eager boy uses toilet 3 times (to be sure) but unfortunately wakes up wet :( he's a little disappointed but we reassure him it's only his first night and we'll try again.
Night 2 & 3 dry :) very happy with himself.

Night 4 wet, night 5 dry Night 6 wet (but he fesses up he had a sneaky drink while brushing his teeth) Night 7 dry again :) Not bad four out of seven.

Week 2 - night lifting.

After a few wet nights in week one Cian was eager to do better this week. We decided that we would also limit drinks from 6 along with night lifting.

Cian loves his sleep and although we had talked at bedtime about getting up to go to the toilet during the night he cries the house down when we wake him waking his 2 younger brothers (eeeekkkkk!!!!)
After settling everyone back to sleep eventually it proves successful as he's dry in the morning :)

He's dry for the following 2 nights and he's really thrilled with himself as are we, however he tells me he was dry on the 3rd night but I later find his wet jammies in the laundry basket, when I asked him why he lied about it he got upset and said it was because he wanted to be dry.

He is dry every night for the rest of the week. Great result but it is tough waking him and coaxing him plus we are disturbing his sleep pattern which I would be a little concerned about, but the results are good and Cian is so much happier in the mornings.

Week 3
Good week for Cian, we continue to limit drinks after 6pm and keep doing our night lifting, with great results dry every morning with only one exception.

This week we also tried introducing bananas and raisins as part of his evening tea as I read online that they help with bedwetting. We were hoping that we could stop the night lifting as although we are seeing the results, it's not ideal as Cian is hard to wake and when he wakes he cries and usually wakes his siblings. On Thursday night we didn't lift him when we went to bed but he woke up wet, very upset and disappointed on Friday morning.

The six days of dry nights and dry mornings are really starting to show as Cian's confidence grows. Our little man has much more confidence in himself and even the way he is acting is more grown up.

Week 4
After a successful week 3 we looked forward to our final week of trying out new bedwetting solutions. This week we tried a prescription from our GP.

We continued to limit drinks from 6pm and made sure there was 2 toilet trips before bed, however having taken the tablet on Monday evening, a very disappointed boy woke at 6am soaked on Tuesday morning. The same thing happened again on Wednesday morning and Cian was very upset and embarrassed.

Finally Thursday morning came and Cian was dry and his confidence was regained. Dry again Friday morning, Saturday morning and again on Sunday morning. Cian was very happy with himself.

I think it takes a few days for the for prescription to start working, although it is expensive at €70 for a month's supply. Overall, we found the medication and night lifting very effective solutions for Cian's bedwetting, although it was not ideal waking Cian (and his siblings with his cries) every night.
