I don't ever shop online, I was always a bit scared of it if I'm honest, and I'm a creature of habit too. Anyway, having given it a go, it's great, it's terribly easy AND you get €15 off your first shop - winner!
 
I like the way you can browse by aisl and if you can't find it you can search for that item. There's a very good selection available and for me there wasn't anything I couldn't find. I'm very impressed that my shopping list remains online for the next time, it will make things really easy.
 
I like that the website lists special offers so I can still see what's on offer in the shop, and I also enjoyed browsing through the catalogue online as much as I do in print; love the SuperValu recipes. If I was to be really picky, I'd love if you could click a button to add 'ingredients' to my shopping list for these recipes, I'd find that very handy.

I will shop online again at SuperValu and I will recommend to other mums - I actually managed to make a cost saving as there's much less impulse buying.

Thank you so much for picking me as one of the lucky shoppers you made my week.

This was my first online shop with SuperValu, I have used Tesco online shopping in the past and love it. I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant and very sick so the fact I didn't have to leave the house to do a shop is wonderful.

I am use to the Tesco app and found the SuperValu app a little getting use too. I didn't like the browse aisle section as I didn't think it showed up everything so found typing into the search bar better although longer also didn't like how I couldn't view items from low to high price. While I'm in the negatives another thing I didn't like was I had to select a time for collect/delivery before I could add an item to my trolley and every time I came out of the app and went back in.

I was very please to see everything I wanted was in stock and they had many brilliant offers on also loved the DON'T SUBSTITUTE part at the checkouts as Tesco app doesn't offer this. Could go back in and change your order/payment details up until a certain time which I loved as I often forget stuff

When it came to paying I scanned my gift card it showed up a different number and wouldn't go through so I had to entre it manually. I was also able to avail for the 15e off a 75e shop which was even better.

I received a call from the store this morning to let me know my card number and ID was needed which was good so I could have it ready. Delivery was on time and deliver driver so pleasant. Even got a free Halloween cake for my first shop.

Overall the experience was a pleasure no major issues and will happily shop online again using the SuperValu app. Will recommend to others.

Hi thanks so much for picking me for this great trial. I got the email yesterday, the voucher this morning and my online shop tonight! I don't normally shop online, it's just not something I have ever thought of doing. I find I do a biggish shop on a Thursday but still always have to pop in and out most days as always forget stuff. I found it was very handy. I just clicked on the aisles and then clicked in to different things I wanted to check. As this was my first time I didn't have previous orders but I imagine it will be a lot easier in future when my previous shops are there with what I've bought. Everything I was looking for I found on the website. The delivery slots were grand, I started the order around 10am today. There was plenty of slots for during the week. There was only 2 slots left between 6-8pm tonight. I was delighted to find slots for tonight so I took one, I picked delivery not click and collect. I have never used the click and collect, that wouldn't appeal to me. I would either shop myself in store if I have to go in anyway or else if I'm doing it on the computer just have it delivered. I found the whole procedure very easy to use, I had a question in relation to paying with the giftcard. I never knew you could use these online. I had one before but spent it in store. Next time I'll use online. I used the chat button on the site and got my answer quickly. I would use it again. I like that I will be able to copy other orders as I buy same things every week so this will speed it up. Two products I had asked for were unavailable and they couldn't substitute. One was hot cups beef and veg I was suprised they couldn't give a different flavour and also the mr Kipling angel slices I would have liked a different flavour slice. It's not a big deal I wasn't charged the €4. Another product the garlic they substituted, I would not have purchased that myself as it's different but I didn't say don't substitute so I can't complain. There was 2 products that were on the receipt as the product I ordered and at that price but different came. I ordered charleville cheese and they gave Dubliner. Also I asked for SuperValu butter and they gave Dairygold. I will use them and it's not a big deal but if u were very exact about your products it might not work for you. As theses weren't down as substitutes I'd say it was just a mistake.
 
I would definitely recommend the service. I was really impressed with the €15 off your first spend over €75 , what great value. Only change is a few products didn't have an image . I just remembered one prod I couldn't find was the large jar of dolmio lasagne white sauce. I got 2 smaller jars for €3 so it was ok, but I prefer just the one large. I had ordered for delivery between 6-8pm. The driver was here about 5.59pm so the timing was excelent. He was a very nice and friendly driver. He br everything into the kitchen and asked if everything was ok. He told me to double check and if I had any issues to contact them again. I enjoyed the trial and will use SuperValu.ie again. I also lie I can keep track of what I'm spending as I add to the basket.

Thank you very much for selecting me to take part in this trial. I have shopped online before but not very often. For groceries I do prefer to be in the store.
I was very happy however, to try this out. I found the website very easy to navigate, I found everything that I was looking for and got my shop for much less than I normally spend - I probably missed out on a few offers, but no harm there, and my wallet is all the better for it.
 
I chose to click and collect, which was so easy and efficient. I have to say this was really brilliant, you order everything and then choose a two hour window to collect, you don't even have to go inside the store. With three kids, this is great, one of the really difficult things for me at the moment is doing the weekly shop - getting everyone in the car, then out of the car, then keeping them near me, and then shopping, bagging and back it and the kids back in the car. This was that's all made so much more easy. I really loved it. Certainly for other busy mums with kids this is a life saver, and I will use again.
 
I would highly recommend, staff lovely to deal with both in-store and online. Thanks again.

I was delighted to have been chosen to partake in this trial. Thank you, it was very generously rewarded! I used to shop online a lot (with Tesco) years ago when my children were very small but I havent done an online shop in years. So, I did my online shop on Monday night, 30th Oct and it was delivered yesterday. The delivery time I wanted was available, there was a good selection of time. It did arrive late but (my slot was 2-4pm) but they had contacted me to ask if it would be ok to delivery later, closer to 5.30pm. I agreed to that but it actually arrived earlier at about 4.30pm. My husband was here at the time and the driver delivered my items in cardboard boxes and, as I did with Tesco years ago (except they use plastic crates) I began to immediately empty the boxes. I think there were 4/5 boxes in total and my husband was helping me. As I was emptying the last two boxes my husband told me the driver was gone which I felt was a bit bizarre. I was left with a couple of big boxes and receipts and I was not asked to sign for anything, nor was I asked if everything was ok or needed to be returned. Again, I am reverting back to my experience with Tesco years ago, where that seemed to be the norm.

The online shop itself was good but I did find it a little difficult to find a couple of items. For example I wanted to purchase some Supervalu own brand coffee pods (the ones that fit in the Nespresso machines). I could not find these under any of the Coffee categories, instant, ground roast or one cups so I had to do a search, and even at that, it did not give me the full variety of types they have for this. (I searched Lungo/Pods/Nespresso etc). Also, I could not find the Supervalu own brand pre sliced and packaged crumbed ham, usually priced at €1.99. I usually buy these in my local store so maybe they did not do them in the store where the deliveries are organised. In addition, I could not get any bacon medallions. I usually purchase the Supervalu own brand but not one brand came up when I searched for this and instead I was shown all rashers, sausages and bacon and not one medallion in sight. (A tad disappointing when on the Slimming World diet but I'll get over it!) All in all, I felt the site was good but could probably do with some fine tuning to find items like I mentioned above. I do think if I used it regularly that this would be less of a problem. In relation to my items that arrived, I was a little disappointed in a couple of things that were substitued. There was no Tayto 12 packs and we were given a 12 pack of King crisps instead. But I accept, I should have given that a 'no substitute tick' I purchased 3 meat items on the 3 for €10.00 offer. I went in to the entire offer and selected 3 items on it. I received two items which cost me €4 each and was informed the 3rd was not available. I would have thought they would have substituted that item, even for one of my other choices so that I could get them on the special offer multi buy. Instead I paid €4 for goujons and €4 for drumsticks which I would not normally have purchased at that price. I must admit thought, that when I originally ordered my items and I checked over it. I began to click on the 'do not substitute' boxes but I gave up as there were too many. Perhaps this could be just indicated in one box at the end with a small section to explain any preferences? I did make a preference on one item to select some very lean ham slices (Denny brand) and they were delivered as I would have chosen myself. Another thing that I noticed was that I purchased a Hellman's Ketchup on offer. When it arrived the label clearly states that it was made using red and green tomatos. Now, that is fine for me but I have two fusspots at home who already said 'yuk' on seeing the bottle. Had I purchased this in store I would not have bought it for this exact reason. I am not sure if this was an oversight on my part or if it was not clearly marked on the online shop. Also, fresh fruit which was individually picked, was lovely and would have been as I would have selected myself. All dates on fresh items were very good, including the sliced bread. Everything was delivered undamaged.

I would use the servce again for sure but I don't think I would go out of my way to recommend it. Having said that, for a basic shop it will work, I just found it tricky for a few particular items I would have liked to have got. Thanks again for the opportunity

That was strange that they brought the shopping in boxes and terrible he left without checking things with you. My driver brought mine in crates and like you I emptied them as he was in and out and he took them away. He checked if everything was ok and said make sure you double check everything is ok and contact them if there was any issues. I would imagine that should be the normal procedure.

Thank you very much for allowing me to test Supervalue online. I very much enjoyed it.
We normally shop in Supervalue but never online. I have shopped online in another shop before but it was ages ago and I didn't really think much of it. I quite enjoyed getting to shop online this time, I found the website quite easy to use, and I found they had nearly everything I wanted.
If I had a choice, I'd have sections for own brand stuff, as a lot of my shopping is own brand. And i didn't think that was very obvious. But that could just be me and being picky. Lol.
I found the whole experience very easy, and to think I didn't even need to leave my house, fab. And I really liked that I could substitate or not, and that I could just click all not to be substitute if I so desired.
I got some items sustituted - but very much to my favour, I didn't realise that if you choose an own brand item that they don't have, they'll substitute with whatever is available, which is great.
All in all a very good experience. Would do it again. And would encourage other mums to do it also.

Thanks for letting me take part, I really appreciate the opportunity.
I found everything I needed. I always shop at SuperValu, never online, I like their range, I love the meat / fish counter and the fresh fruit and vegetables. There's a good choice of everything I need, and their own brand range is great value.
Would recommend to others.

I haven't done a Supervalue online shop before and found it very easy to use. I have used other websites for online shopping but as Supervalu is so nearby I just don't need to use their online servce. I thought the website was good and I found everything I needed.
I still prefer shopping in store, I like to check what's on offer, and the very routine of being actually in the shop. That said, it was very efficient and easy to use, so would be helpful if I couldn't get to the shop for whatever reason.

I would recommend to other mums, and have already shared with my family, especially my mum, who doesn't always get out to do her shop - very convenient for her.

Thank you mummy pages for letting me test the Supervalu online delivery service - a €75 voucher and €15 off my first shop - I certainly can't complain!
I usually shop in my local Supervalu store and that is where I buy the majority of my groceries so I was delighted to try the online delivery service for the first time. I have never shopped online for groceries in Ireland, but I have only recently moved from the UK where I used to use Sainsburys/Asda/Tesco.
I found the website fairly easy to navigate once I got the hang of it and initially used the "sections" to locate items, moving on to the search function. Certain products were easy to find by searching, whereas items such as yoghurt and milk were easier to find looking by "range" as a large number of results came up when searching. When looking for 2L of blue milk, I found when searching "milk" that non dairy items came up first so perhaps the items in the search function should be ordered by popularity.
I was pleased to see the main butchers items that I buy in store, as I particularly like the butchers counter so it was great it was not just pre-packed meat available. I couldn't find the chicken goujons I buy at my local store but I think they may be store specific.
I was unable to find chickpeas online. However, I have been looking for semolina in store and I don't know which aisle to find it in, but I was able to find it quickly by searching, so there are definitely pros and cons to both online and in store shopping!
When ordering online only dates on Fridays appeared as available delivery slots, the options being 5-7 and 7-1. I chose 7-1 (presuming this was 7am - 1pm). My delivery arrived at 11am which was perfect. I asked the delivery driver about only delivering on Friday, but he said that because I am on the outskirts of the town I would be able to get deliveries all week and didn't know why Friday just came up. He also said that the delivery slot was 11am -1pm, and a two hour slot is ideal compared to waiting in all morning. The delivery driver said I should enter my address in ensuring I have town in in case the system thought I was in a rural location. I will use the delivery service again and try changing my address slightly next time to see if this gives me better delivery slots.
I did find the delivery service good, and the driver was friendly and helpful. I will be recommending it to friends and family because it's great to get things delivered, particularly if you are getting lots of heavy or bulky items such as tins and toilet roll. The delivery cost was €7 for me which isn't that cheap, but worthwhile when you consider petrol and parking costs. Features such as copying my last shop and favourite items would certainly be a bonus when doing another online Supervalu shop. I do use their rewards scheme but unfortunately it would not recognise my address alongside my number when I tried to enter it online, but if this had worked it would have shown up what I buy in store (I think) which would be great!
I would definitely recommend Supervalu delivery to other mummy's. I believe they offer quality products at a competitive price and the service was easy to use and worthwhile if, like me, you have young kids at home and a trip to the supermarket for a big shop is just slightly daunting!!

I have never shopped for groceries online before, never really saw the need. But when I got the opportunity, I thought why not? It's been a week of sick kiddies so getting out of the house has been next to impossible, from that perspective, online grocery shopping is a godsend.
We found everything we normally buy, there were lots of delivery slots available and I didn't encounter any issues.
