Thank you very much for allowing us to take part in this trial, we really enjoyed it.
We are familiar with the Connell Bakery range at Lidl, but ot be honest, we hadn't tried a lot until now, force of habit I guess.
We don't nomrally buy pancakes, I've always made them mysefl, but I have to say these are so hady to have in the press as a quick lunch snack - we toasted them, and had fruit with them The kids really enjoyed them (as did mum and dad of course)
We had the square wheaten with our weekend breakfast fry, along with the potato frals and they were a huge success. The pack was finished that day.

We had the medium sliced pan for lunches throughout the week and I couldn't faul it at all. Beautiful fresh bread.

On one of the days we had a day trip organised where we would always pack our own lunch - we had the multigrain baps with cheese, ham and tomato - the kids absolutely loved them.

I kept the fruit loaf all to myself - the kids aren't mad about fruit cake/ bread etc so I wasn't going to waste it on them. The fruit loaf is gorgeous - myself and a friend polished off a few slices toasted for morning coffee.

I'm suitably impressed with the Connell Bakery range, it's ridiculously good value for money (all the above for under a fiver), I have already recommended to my friends and family, and I will defiitely buy again. We always shop at Lidl, so it's good to know these are always there.
Thanks for letting us take part in this trial.

I have to say the Lidl Connell Bakery range was never on my list - I'm a creature of habit, and so I hadn't tried the range before. I also have a house full of picky eaters so bringing in new things to try doesn't always go so well. I tested the water with the pancakes and they went down really well, there wasn't even one left for my DH to try! The potato farls were next, and this time my DH got to taste them too - we all agreed they were very tasty.
As the kids are off school we have been having play dates and picnics to keep everyone enteretained - for the play dates we had the white loaf with cheese and ham and everyone asked for more. For the picnic we used the multigrain baps with chicken and cheese - I decided to bring no other alternatives, so if there were grumbles, there wouldn't be any choices to make, but I didn't have to worry - they were no grumbles and not a crumb left.
I tested the fruit loaf and square wheaten myself, which I have to say were really really tasty - a great morning or evening snack.
We really enjoyed everything from the Lidl Connell Bakery range, I'm quite surrpised that we were able to buy all (white bread, baps, pancakes, fruit loaf, brown bread and potato farls) for just under a fiver - this really is brilliant value for money, and it wasn't just good value, it was all eaten and enjoyed. We will definitely be shopping more often in Lidl, and we will be buying again. Would recommend to other mums.

Thanks for choosing me to take part in this trial. I have three (hungy) boys who constantly eat me out of house and home so it was great to get them involved in the taste test. I can tell you the Lidl Connell Bakery range got a big thumbs up.
Bread is always a big hit in our hosue, and we all really enjoyed the white sliced pan, but what surprised me was that the kids really enjoyed the square wheaten bread and the multigrain baps - normally when I try to intrroduce anything healthy, they turn their noses up at it, but they actually enjoed it, and asked for more. The baps will be perfect for back to school time, which is great, as I often struggle to think of healthy lunch box options.
I never think to buy pancakes, they're normally a bit too expenise and you'd need a few packs to keep my lads satisfied, but I was pleasantly surprised at the good value on the Connell Bakery buttermilk pancakes - which meant I could buy a few packs, and we all had plenty to eat. Needless the say, pancakes are the new firm favourite and we have already bought them again.
Friday evening is our treat night, and we normally have sausages and chips, last week instead of chips we had the potato farls and everybody loved them. It's been years since I had potato farls, and I felt they were a bit healthier than the chips we have, so they will definitely be on the list again. Afterwards we each had the fruit loaf and it was gorgeous - the perfect treat night, and not all that unhealthy.
Overall I found the Lidl Connell Bakery range, excellent value, and as we already shop in Lidl, they will be in our weekly shop. I will check out the other products that are available in this range, and will try them too. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Thanks for letting me take part in this trial.

I have seen the Connell Bakery range in Lidl and have tried a few products before.
My favourite was the fruit loaf - toasted with a little butter. Just what I need with a nice cup of tea!
The kids loved the pancakes for breakfast. They also enjoyed the sandwiches made from the white sliced pan. We toasted the brown bread for tea and had it with butter and jam - it went down a treat!
I will be buying these products from the Lidl Connell Bakery range on a regular basis - the kids loved them - for breakfast, lunch and tea!
I cannot wait to try other products from the Lidl Connell range.
I would definitely recommend the Lidl Connell Bakery range to all my friends and family.
They are fantastic value for money!

Thanks very much for letting is take part - we're not completely addicted to the Lidl Connell Bakery pancakes and potato farls. These were the first thing we tried and the kids couldn't get enough.
We had a birthday party last week, and I normally don't have much in the line of food for adults, as I had the fruit loaf, I decided to use it, so I served it fresh, with butter and a cup of tea - every slice was eaten, not even a crumb left and I had a bunch of very appreciative mums :)
Over the course of the week we had the white loaf, square wheaten and multigrain baps for breakfast toasted, and everyone enjoyed them.
Will buy again, and you have my mummy friends already raving about the fruit loaf.

Thanks for allowing me take part in the Lidl Connell bakery trial. To be honest, I hadn't heard of that bakery before. I did try Lidl bread before when they first opened here but I didn't like it at all so I was nervous after being given the opportunity to try it again. But sure we're up for anything in our house so we said we'd give it a go.
We are a big bread family - the kids love pancakes and I do buy ready made especially when I don't have time to make them myself.

So we started with toasted pancakes for breakfast - himself had butter and the kids had chocolate spread (a weekend treat). They went down a treat. You don't have to toast them as they are really soft, fresh and light - we just did it as it is 'our way'.

On Sunday we were having friends over so we did a fry and we used the potato farls and wheaten bread for this. We fried the potato farls in the bacon fat (a bit naughty I know) and they were delicious with our egg and bacon breakfast. The wheaten bread was fresh and tasty - a close second to making brown bread yourself I'd have thought.

We used the fruit loaf and multi-grain baps for lunches during the week as they kids are doing camps and they also got a big thumbs up. I'd never have thought of buying baps like that but it was a sneaky way of getting a few good grains into the kids. I froze the baps and fruit loaf too as we ended up with quite a lot of bread in one go - it defrosted out of the freezer tasting as fresh as the day we had put it in.
So all in all a big thumbs up from our house - I'd definitely buy them again. Not just because of the price but they tasted as good as if not better than some of the other more expensive that we have used in the past. Surprisingly, the Connell Bakery range would actually influence my shopping in Lidl more as bread is too important to us as a family to have to do multiple basket shops for what we want. I'd definitely recommend then to a friend and will be buying them again.

I shop in Lild weekly, and always buy the white sliced pan. It's really good value for money, it's always fresh and the kids love it. Don't need any convincing on that. I hadn't tried the others yet, so it was nice to get to test them.
The square wheaten is really yummy, I love brown bread toasted witha sprinkling of grated cheese - my girls loved it too. The kids really enoyed having the buttermilk pancakes for breakfast (a real treat instead of cereal), while mum and dad had toasted fruit loaf - gorgeous.

I often buy potato farls, but hadn't tried the Connell Bakery ones - they're absolutely lovely.
We all enjoyed taking part in this trial, and really liked the range from Connell Bakery - we have already bought again, and would recommend them without hesitation.

Absolutely LOVED taking part in this trial - we don't always shop at Lidl, but I am familiar with the Lidl Connell Bakery range and I had tried the wheaten square before, though I hadn't tried any of the other items.
The one thing I was not sure that I would like is the potato farls - I haven't had them in a long time, my granny used to always have them, so I always figured a shop bough version wouldn't match up, but they were absolutely delicious. The perfect accompaniment to a lazy Sunday brunch and the kids really liked them.
The white bread was lovely, and we've always enjoyed the square wheaten. The wholegrain baps were a totally new idea to me and the kids, we never really buy baps or rolls - they were fresh and tasty, great for lunch.
The fruit loaf was my personal favourite, I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it, and for me was the top of the list. I stopped buying it because I was the only one eating it - but we shared it around this time, and everyone loved it. But the hands down winner for the kids were the pancakes - they really loved them, and I got them to eat fruit with them, which was a double bonus.
We have already been back again to re-stock - the Lidl Connell Bakery range is now firmly on our weekly shopping list - excellent value for money, fresh, tasty and a big hit with everyone in the family. There aren't a lot of things that you can say that about. You have a complete convert :)

Got it tried it loved it.

We had great fun taking on this taste test, and we all agreed, Lidl Connell BAkery goods would be in the shopping trolley from now on.
The kids all loved the white sliced bread, and the wheaten square - these are regular staples in our house, so it's good to know there is a great value option available that everyone is happy to eat.I found the bread fresh on the day I bought it, and it lasted longer than my normal sliced pan too.
My mum was visiting for the week, and she tucked in to the fruit loaf, I did get to have a slice or two of it too ha ha. We both agreed, it was very nice, tasty, moist and well worth buying again.
The hubby said his favourite was the potato farls, I often make these at home, but with the kids getting bigger and busier with weekend activities, I just don't seem to have the time. These are an excellent alternative to my homemade version.
The one I found most handy from the Lidl Connell Bakery range were the buttermilk pancakes and the wholegrain baps - these were so handy to have for a quick lunch on a busy day, the kids really enjoyed them, and reminded me that school is only a few weeks away, so these will definitely be on the list.
Thanks very much for letting us test these out. They will be in the weekly shop from now on, and I would recommend to other mums out there.

Lidl just keeps getting better and better, every time I'm in there I find something new that becomes a must have on my weekly shopping list. And the Connell Bakery range was no different.
I hadn't bought this range before, but now that I have, I won't be changin. I got the kids to eat brown bread (wheaten square) which is practically unheard of, and they also ate the multigrain baps - although the youngest one struggled to finish it, it was a bit more than she would normally eat.
For after dinner during the week, we had fruit loaf, and for kids that normally look for a 'traditional' treat for the midweek treat, they were surprisingly happy to have the fruit loaf, and I was happy they weren't having biscuits.
This is a super range from Lidl, and I wil buy again. When you have a hungry family to feed, who run through a sliced pan like it's nothing, this range is the best option out there. Great value and great taste.
Delighted to be involved in this trial, and to recommend the range to others.
They weren't so crazy about the pancakes, but I really liked them. They're not really pancake eaters to be honest, although they did tell me they'd hoover them up if I included a jar of chocolate sauce - I draw the line there, they are more than tasty enough.
White bread toast at the wekend with the Saturday grill, and toasted cheese on Sunday evening was a huge success.

I found this range to be really good value, especially when you are feeding a hungry family who go through a sliced pan like there's not tomorrow.
I will buy them again, at these prices, it makese sense. But they also taste good too. The kids would be the first to refuse anything they don't like.
Delighted to be part of this trial, and to recommend the range to others.
