5 April Fools’ Day pranks your kids will fall for

april fool's dayOn April Fools’ Day, you and your partner get to show a different side of yourselves. Not only does it give you two a break from being serious, but it also gives the family a chance to enjoy a day full of laughter and banter.

If your children haven’t pranked you yet, it’s quite likely that they have something planned for you later, so there’s no need for you to feel guilty about pranking them with one of these:

  • Put some baking soda in the toilet so when one of your children flush the toilet, it will foam up and give them a bit of a surprise.
  • Put scoopfuls of mashed potatoes into a sundae class with chocolate sauce. It will look like a scrumptious chocolate sundae, but once they take a spoonful of this stuff, they will realise that it’s nothing more than just mashed spuds.
  • If you really want to get a laugh out of April Fools’ Day, get a “For Sale” sign and stick it in your front garden. When your children ask where you’re off to, think of the most disliked destination.
  • If one of your children is big into watching telly, then you can put sellotape over the remote sensor. They may panic a bit, but who wouldn’t want to witness that on April Fools’ Day?
  • The ultimate prank for children who love a sunny-side-up egg is to cut half a peach into the shape of an egg yolk and place it in the middle of a plate with plain yoghurt. Maybe it’s a little mean, but still quite funny.

April Fools’ Day is all about laughter and no matter what of the day, you can still prank your children. In fact, the longer you wait, the better because they may even think you forgot about this fun day.
